NL | Haarlemse embroidery artist Heidi Koers transformeert woonhuis tot atelier tijdens Kunstlijn 2026.
HAARLEM – Tijdens het kunstweekend Kunstlijn op 7,8 ,14 en 15 november opent de Haarlemse embroidery artist de deuren van haar atelier aan de Meester Cornelisstraat 94RD. Speciaal voor de Kunstlijn ondergaat haar woning voor twee weekenden een complete gedaanteverwisseling. Daarmee geeft ze een letterlijke en unieke invulling aan thema “Metamorfose”.
Bezoekers krijgen tijdens de twee weekenden in November een exclusief kijkje achter de schermen van een mooie en tijdloze ambacht.
In het tijdelijke atelier toont Heidi haar nieuwste geborduurde kunstwerken en eerder gemaakt werk. Door de presentatie van de gebruikte materialen, verhalende moodboards en schetsen wordt haar proces nog meer zichtbaar. Haar werk kenmerkt zich door te tekenen met het draad waarmee zij het traditionele borduren naar een modern en artistiek niveau tilt.
De transformatie van de ruimte vormt de kern van haar presentatie. Waar de locatie normaal gesproken functioneert als een privewoonhuis, ondergaat het pand voor de Kunstlijn een totale metamorfose tot een publieke *toegankelijke expositieruimte. Bezoekers stappen daarmee letterlijk midden in de creatieve wereld van Heidi.
Heidi is gedurende de openingsdagen zelf aanwezig om haar passie voor het vak te delen. Zij gaat graag met bezoekers in gesprek over de technieken achter het ambacht, haar workshops, geeft toelichting op haar nieuwste werk en beantwoord vragen over haar creatieve proces.

HAARLEM – During the Kunstlijn art weekend (November 7, 8, 14, and 15), Haarlem-based embroidery artist Heidi Koers will open the doors of her studio at Meester Cornelisstraat 94RD. Especially for Kunstlijn, her home will undergo a complete transformation over the course of two weekends, offering a literal and unique interpretation of the theme “Metamorphosis.”
Over these two weekends in November, visitors will get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at a beautiful, timeless craft.
In this temporary studio, Heidi will showcase her latest embroidered artworks alongside earlier pieces. Her creative process is further revealed through the display of materials, narrative mood boards, and sketches. Her work is characterized by “drawing with thread,” elevating traditional embroidery to a modern, artistic level.
The transformation of the space lies at the heart of her presentation. While the location normally serves as a private residence, it will undergo a total metamorphosis into a publicly accessible exhibition space for Kunstlijn. Visitors will thus step directly into Heidi’s creative world.
Heidi will be present on all opening days to share her passion for the craft. She looks forward to discussing the techniques behind her work and her workshops, explaining her latest pieces, and answering questions about her creative process.

Heidi Koers, 1976 Haarlem, creating a work of art for me is like drawing with a needle and thread. By playing with different stitches, thick and thin threads, shadows and relief are created. The end threads that remain hanging give a dramatic effect and together form the movement and fantasy of the project. For my work I mainly get my inspiration from: textile qualities & textures, composition play, color combinations, fashion and fashion photography where I sometimes use myself as a model. Playing with all these elements together is a start for a new project that continually creates itself.
